Along with modern B.com degree, we get to study Vedas, Upanishads, yoga, meditations,
vedic chanting, Bhagavadgita etc. which we don’t get in other normal school/ colleges.
This helps us understand more about ourselves, our abilities and hidden talents.

Probably, there is no other place in our country where a girl of this age is given an opportunity to earn
a modern degree along with the rich knowledge she gets to acquire from the learning and
practices of Upanishads and Vedic Scriptures.

Scriptures are about us, about our conflicts, how to handle the conflicts within us, what to do and what not to do.
Learning and practice of scriptures allowed us to understand more about ourselves as individuals,
it allowed us to first become aware of the conflicts and infatuations and develop ability to resolve them naturally.

Earlier I used to think will I not miss my family, friends, family functions, get-together,
as I would be in an isolated place. But as days went by, I observed I did not miss anyone and anything,
It felt heavenly here, with the progress made every day through learning and experiences.

Many of them are not aware about our Vedas/ upanishads , some of them believe Sanskrit is a dead language,
but really we went to few houses in Srirangapatna and saw people putting efforts to study Sanskrit,
so, we could see the emerging desire to learn Sanskrit language in the society.

Teachers here eat with us, stay with us, they are always available to us
this is one of the greatest advantages of being in a gurukulam,
you see and follow your teacher, the guru.

If I had chosen to do a usual and normal Degree, I would have just got a normal university degree.
But  Life and Learning at Cauvery Kanya Gurukulam helped me develop my personality and
transform my attitude & outlook towards life. I am blessed to be here in the gurukulam.
